Help for the Nonprofit CFO

Mary Diegert

Welcome! I’m a recently retired CFO with 25 years of experience in the nonprofit human services field. I have a master’s degree in accounting and an inactive CPA license. My most recent experience is fifteen years with a $20 million Catholic Charities agency in upstate New York. I’m also treasurer for a local community orchestra in which I play viola and my husband plays violin (and yes, we do make beautiful music together!)

My goal for this site is to share the lessons I’ve learned from my years of on-the-job experience as a nonprofit financial manager. I hope that as you explore the articles and posts you find here you’ll find practical advice that you can use as well as the voice of a sympathetic compatriot who understands where you’re coming from.

Please feel free to be in touch. I would love to hear from you! Contact me here.
